No blanket waivers from punitive US sanctions will be issued for any one particular country under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), an official of the Trump Administration has said. Speaking to reporters on the condition of anonymity, the senior official said the grant of any such waiver for significant transactions with Russia would be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
